Could someone please give me some suggestions concerning my anemic father who has prostate cancer?

0 like 0 dislike
My dad has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.  His hemoglobin (Hgb) has gone down from 13 to 9.5.  He is very pale, he has dyspnea, palpitations and he can't work.   I don't know how to help him.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me as to how I can help him?  I am very worried.

“Dear AdnanAkram,

I am so sorry for your father.

Your father should be hospitalized. It seems to be an acute bleeding for example urinary tract bleeding or blood loss due to blood tests.   The oxygenation of the tissues and normovolemia should be obtained by giving Oxygen and fluid (Saline, dextrose, Ringer solution, HES).  He will benefit from the transfusion alternatives, such as iv iron, EPO, vitamins, stopping bleeding, adequate and balanced nutrition etc.  For further reading you can look at the website.
