Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery Symposium

The Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery, a program for patients who prefer treatment or surgery without the use of blood or blood products such as red cells, white cells, platelets and plasma, will be holding a free symposium on Saturday, May 17.

This event will feature a presentation on the history of bloodless medicine from Patricia Ford, MD, Founder and Director of the Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital. It also will include panel discussions on what happens in the operating room, how the hospital identifies bloodless patients and when to enroll with the Center.
